Welcome back to Galveston Amy…here’s some rats to play with!! You guys, I am telling you, if you have followed my journey you would think I am cursed. So, last time I was here I had an awesome time. Its beautiful and the staff is great so I decided to come back for a week before I went to Pensacola to see my son.

If you remember, I had stored my camper at BTSL Storage/Landscaping so I would not have to drive it back to Omaha. Well the good news is that my camper was there… bad news was that once I opened it up at the KOA I was greeted with a little “mouse” turd. (so I thought) I went inside and let me tell you… I was SHOCKED! I had no idea mice or rats could do this kind of damage. I will post photos here, but I am telling you things like my dog food keeper, my toaster, my coffee maker, utensils and more!!

So I cleaned up the mess and was going to turn my water on but I decided, I better check and make sure I had the water running the correct way… Thank Goodness I did that! I saw the water lines had been eaten and chewed up. So didn’t turn water on and went to the main office to see who they suggested for maintenance. Called the guy and luckily he was not far away and turned around.

So what we thought was water damaged hose under the sink has turned into damage toilet lines, and shower lines and lines behind the furnace. He is a GREAT guy, but he’s here now (Monday) and keeps saying “oh crap” every time he finds more lines that need fixed. Lord help me!!

Oh great! My whole under belly has been eaten up. All new water lines for Amy!! My what an adventure. So, $2,600 later and I have all new water lines. However… now my break lights don’t work. Good grief! That being said, I do not feel comfortable driving all the way to Pensacola so I will store my camper here (different place) and call the trailer company later.

Meanwhile… Again, this camp ground is GREAT! The staff is friendly and very helpful. The place is very clean. Last night they held and super bowl party for everyone to bring potluck food to and had a bar. It was fun. Although I did leave before half time and hit the hot tub. Made some friends and had a nice night.

I will update you when I know anything. I’m off to see my son in Pensacola and will just get a hotel. I am not missing out on seeing him!
